"ARO" was a sophomore level project in which I designed and built a working teapot. Only carbon steel and a wood laminate of our choice was to be used. A spout, handle, and infuser were also required. "ARO" was inspired by certain aesthetic attributes found in modern sports cars, with a sharp and streamlined body and overall aerodynamic form. I cut and welded 18 gauge carbon steel sheets to form the vessel, and laminated cherry wood veneer for the handle. The handle was stained for a light finish and the final body was then sandblasted for a matte, stone-like finish.
